Your library is your best friend, even if you don’t visit it often. The only time I get there is to pick up the books I’ve borrowed on interlibrary loan. The workers in the Stacks section must know me by name.

That system is worth knowing. Most libraries don’t have a massive collection at every location. But that doesn’t mean that they don’t own the material. It’s just tucked away in between book sales, waiting for someone like me to request an obscure title.

Our library system has a fabulous collection of other resources in addition to the print and e-book options. But it also has a lot of other goodies that took me a while to find.

There are online links to academic sources like JSTOR. They also offer a library edition of Pressbooks.

I have found this site to be the easiest way to get the formatting down in a stylish way. It is everything you want. Skip the Word templates. Pressbooks is the way to go.

Check out your library’s website to see if it’s an option for you. It’ll make publishing in print and digital so much better.
